As so much of daily life is now tech-based, I am actively making an effort to “unplug” during my daily walks. I leave my phone at home and enjoy the signs of spring- a small bud blooming in my neighbour’s garden, a robin finding an earthworm, a squirrel barking from the branches of a tall tree. Using this time to wander gives my mind space and time to decompress. I’m not worried about my thesis proposal, ethics submission, the fact that I’m researching sports but there are no sports right now, the new APA referencing guidelines, the mandates from work… Just the feel of the morning mist after a day of rain and the grey skies changing colour.
